What chiropractic care involves at ReFigure

Every new patient starts the same way: a proper assessment. We take a history, look at how you move, and explain what we find in plain English before anyone puts a hand on you. If we think chiropractic care is a reasonable fit for what is going on, we will say so and explain why. If we do not, we will tell you that too and point you toward someone better placed to help.

Chiropractic care is a musculoskeletal approach. It looks at the spine, joints and muscles, how they move, and how they are loaded through your day. After the assessment you will be told what the options are. They may include manual care, lower-force techniques, movement and exercise guidance, doing nothing for now, or referral to your GP or another practitioner. Care is individualised and outcomes vary from person to person, and we will not recommend care you do not need.

If you have never seen a chiropractor, what happens at a first appointment walks through the visit step by step, and what a chiropractor does covers the basics without the jargon. For expecting parents, care is gentle and individualised, adapted to each stage of pregnancy.

The techniques we use

Our signature approach is Advanced Biostructural Correction (ABC), a full-body manual protocol focused on posture and biomechanics. Alongside ABC, our practitioners draw on diversified adjusting, Thompson drop, activator and other low-force methods, dry needling and soft-tissue work. Which techniques we use depends on you: your body, your comfort and your goals. Some people prefer firmer hands-on adjusting; others do better with gentle, low-force care, and we tailor accordingly. You can ask your chiropractor to stop or change approach at any point.

Who you will see

ReFigure is a five-practitioner team led by Dr Andrew Callister, our Principal Chiropractor, who holds a Psychology degree and a Master of Chiropractic and has previously supported elite ski, snowboard and Olympic-level athletes. You may also see Dr Mathew Cullen, a chiropractor with more than 19 years in strength, conditioning and rehabilitation, working with ABC, rehab and soft-tissue care; or Dr Natalie Hope, a former NSW volleyball representative and our female chiropractor, who offers ABC, dry needling, IASTM, cupping and jaw work. Our wider team also includes a wellness coach and a counsellor. You can meet the full team here.

A little about Cammeray

Cammeray sits west of Spit Junction and just off the Military Road corridor. Miller Street runs north to south through the suburb and crosses Falcon Street near its southern edge, and those two streets are how most Cammeray traffic leaves the suburb. The Warringah Freeway runs along the western side, with the Miller Street, Ernest Street and Military Road ramps feeding on and off it.

The local shops, cafes and small businesses are grouped along Miller Street, and Cammeray Public School sits just off it. Cammeray Golf Course lies east of Miller Street. On the northern edge of the suburb, Tunks Park has sports fields and a boat ramp, with Cammeray Marina close by. Flat Rock Creek runs through Tunks Park, and the Flat Rock Gully bushland reserve continues to the north west.

Street and landmark detail on this page was checked against OpenStreetMap. Bus and parking detail changes, so please confirm it with transportnsw.info and the signs at the kerb before you set out.
